“The Machine” is a fast-paced journey through the inner workings of machinery. The basis for “The Machine” is the intricacies involved in designing, building and operating a machine. Starting out with Blueprints, performers hit the ground running with smoking mallet runs. Construction pulls back slightly, but is strongly rhythmic. Activation builds to a dramatic climax with a fierce throw down section for the battery. There are additional props suggested in the drill which inspire you to use your creativity (large levers, bolts, blue prints are a few examples). The center of the floor is the focal point with a large machine motif that could be painted or silk screened. Costumes and backdrops could range from an industrial age “factory worker look” to a futuristic machine shop. Give your drum line all the nuts and bolts they need for success with “The Machine”.
